‘The wedding got totally messed up by a duck’: Couple’s botanical garden wedding descends into disaster by a determined duck who bites the groom’s leg, sends the ring bearer scrambling and turns the flower girl’s petals into makeshift defenses

Some couples worry about exes objecting at their wedding, but this guy's cousin's ceremony learned the hard way that the real threat isn't a past lover—it's a large, opinionated duck with zero respect for formal vows and an even lower tolerance for tuxedos.

Right on cue, with "speak now or forever hold your peace," in waddles our uninvited aquatic guest, quacking its objections at a volume that suggested it was either a close relative of the bride or owed the groom money. In a matter of seconds, this duck went from background wildlife to headliner, latching onto the groom's leg like it was auditioning for the next season of nature documentary: When Animals Attack: Matrimony Edition.

From there, the whole event spun out like slapstick on fast-forward. The groom, in a desperate two-step, tried to shake the determined fowl loose while the best man zigzagged across the grass, arms flapping in urgent duck-chasing semaphore. The ring bearer, evidently deciding discretion is the better part of valor, abandoned ship and dove under the cake table just in time to avoid a collision with the flower girl, who responded to the pandemonium by unleashing a petal barrage in the duck's direction, as if floral confetti was a secret weapon against poultry attacks.
